2019 Hyundai Ioniq EV Review

The 2019 Hyundai Ioniq is one car but comes in three different outstanding options: electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid. Today, we're taking a closer look at the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq EV, the electric vehicle in this driver-friendly lineup.

Imagine owning a vehicle you can charge from your Ithaca, Vestal, or Sayre home or place of business. No more trips to the gas station to fill up. Just plug in, charge, and you're ready to take on the day. Learn more about the Hyundai Ioniq EV with this review from the team at Maguire Hyundai.

Driving an All-Electric Car

With zero emissions and a 100% electric drive, you're not just going to be behind the wheel of a fun car, you'll be behind the wheel of an efficient car. The Ioniq Electric can go up to 124 miles on a single full charge. It's the perfect car for the daily commute, and with that kind of mileage available, it's possible you may get through the entire workweek without a charge.

The electric motor and battery pack work together to provide instant acceleration and torque. There's no waiting around for the engine to rev up or the gears to shift, making it a versatile and nimble car. With the battery unit found under the passenger area, the center of gravity is lowered, which improves handling and provides drivers with copious amounts of interior space.

Every Ioniq comes with standard 110-volt charging cord. A 220-volt cord is available, which can provide a full charge in just over four hours.

A Welcoming Interior

Drive an electric car that's flexible and gives you choices when it comes to passengers and cargo. The 60/40 split-folding rear seatback can be configured for holding either more passengers or more cargo. A 10-way power driver's seat is available with power lumbar support and leather seating surfaces are optional, too. You can also enjoy optimal comfort with the available heated front seats, adjusting the temperature to your liking.

Have a list of favorite apps? Interact with them while on the go, thanks to standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ support. Access navigation, read text messages, and pick out that next song through the touchscreen or by using your voice.

Hyundai Ioniq EV Safety Features

A rearview camera comes standard in the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq EV and allows you to see what's going on when backing up. There are a number of innovative safety features that can help prevent potentially dangerous situations, too. These available features include Driver Attention Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Lane Keep Assist.

Let's take a closer look at what these can do:

Driver Attention Warning: This is your co-pilot. It can analyze driving patterns and movements and, if it senses driver fatigue or distracted driving, a tone will sound or visual alert will display on the instrument panel.

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection: This will warn you when approaching traffic that's stopped or slowing ahead. Braking will be provided if needed to avoid a collision.

Lane Keep Assist: If you begin to drift from the lane you're in, this can provide corrective steering to guide you back.
